[REVIEW]Mi Power Bank

Hello readers! It is a long time since a blog post was posted here, so I decided to revive this place by reviewing a Mi Power Bank that I acquired recently through here. For only S$14($11 USD / €8), I get a 10400 mAh power bank. For reference, a iPhone 5s has a 1540 mAh battery, a Galaxy S5 has a 2800 mAh battery 2300 mAh, Nexus 7(2013) has a 3950 mAh battery.  This means that it can recharge a iPhone 5s 6 times therotically (Mi stated that their lab tests results could only recharge the iPhone 5s 4.5 times). The Galaxy S5 can be recharge up to 3 times and the Nexus 7(2013) can be recharged up to 2 times. Note that these numbers are only possible only theoretically and actual results may vary on a case by case basis, after all not all hardware are made equal right? Also a good Printed Circuit Board will allow the power bank to charge more and have better durability.

All right before we jump to my review, a small majority may ask a couple of questions.

Q:"What’s a power bank?"

Ans: Power bank serve as an ‘extra battery’ or external charger for your phone or other electronic devices.

Q:What is mAh?

Ans:mAh mean milli Ampere hour, the capacity of the power bank is measure with mAh

When I first received the package, my first impression was not  that great. It was just a little paper box with no frills. These days, every major smartphone manufacturer have at least pay attention to the packaging. However, that being said, who keeps these packages anyway? These packages are either thrown away or kept in some dark corners of your house.  It could be one of the reasons to keep the cost down as they would spend lesser time on the design and more time on the actual hardware.

What is in the box?
-A plastic container
-A USB charging wire
-User manual

-Mi power bank

Oh another packaging? Not that bad this time. It is a plastic container that protects the power bank while it is in transit I guess? It can also act as good container to hold my power bank. Not a bad design decision by Mi as it could protect against water and drops.

It is getting rare to find a user guide these days huh? Nothing really much in the guide except telling you to take precautions while charging and the tech specs.Boring.....

                                                            Looks kinda thick huh?

Although it feels heavy, the finishing feels solid. Oh, did I forget to mention that it has an aluminum finish?

At such a price, the product is really affordable given that the price of power bank with such build quality  with such a capacity does not come cheap. Would I recommend it? YES!

[App review] Google Camera

So today, we saw Google's redesigned camera app appear on the play store and it's available for all Android devices with Android 4.4 and up.

Here is an overview of the app, coupled with a couple of screenshots.

Are You willing to sacrifice resolution just for the sake of better low-light photographs on Your smartphone?

Note: this is a purely speculative article, which is based on the countless reviews and (camera) comparisons I have watched after the M8 launch. If we ever get a hands-on on an M8, there will be a rebuttal article to bust or confirm my speculations. Hope You guys enjoy this one!

Google Maps April fool's Easter egg

A quick glimpse on this year's April Fool's Easter Egg found in Google Maps
This is this year's easter egg in Google Maps. I don't know about you, but I love this one. You shall collect all the 150 pokemons on the map. As you can see, I am not the best Pokemon finder and only have 15 Pokemons as of now, but will definitely extend my collection. :D
